He was an American hammer thrower who became the gold medalist in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne. He was a great athlete but made tremendous contributions outside the field, helping Special Olympics and developing youth sports. And was my mentor and friend.



I am in action! age 9, 1984 in LA (West LA College). Technically, I have plenty of time to watch the ball i.e. mastering the use of time(3-4kg).


It was my most exited moment while I was a kid, attending Hal’s Hammer Throw movie in 1984.
